What’s the Deal with Styled Shoots?

March 7, 2016

The deal is that wedding professionals love weddings. So much so that being a part of your big day is sometimes simply not enough. We want to create our own ‘big day’ in a sense.

A Grand Wedding

February 1, 2016

I met Katie and Jason a year before their wedding. They had already been in engaged for a year and had no wedding plans in the works. Their approach to planning their wedding mirrored my sister and her fiance’s, and so I was immediately endeared to them. They didn’t know where to begin, and so they hadn’t yet. We worked together over the course of the year to create their beautiful, rustic, fun Colorado wedding.

Bear Witness

December 15, 2015

Teg and Greg. Their name likeness alone should indicate just how made for one another these two are! Teghan is a lover of bears, and Greg loves all things Teghan. Their guests, on this beautiful September day in Vail, were lucky enough to "bear" witness to the abundance of love between Greg and Teg.

You Win

August 10, 2015

I was immediately attracted to this sweet couple and their close-knit families; as are many others - they threw the biggest wedding of the season (for DTR and for me). To create the mood for this romantic wedding, we added lots of cafe lights, wildflowers, and thoughtful touches to make this a beautiful and meaningful weekend celebrating the bride and groom's love, and how loved they are.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

February 25, 2015

There's something about joining your life with your best guy that makes weaving the women of your life together through a shared experience seem especially appropriate. As I prepare for my sister's bachelorette party this weekend, my mind wanders to all the ways in which we women find or create ways to bond in the moments leading up to marriage.

Better Know a Venue: Sanitas Brewing Company

February 17, 2015

Colorado, "where the beer flows like wine.” Lloyd describes Aspen this way in Dumb and Dumber, but I’m borrowing this quote to describe Boulder in particular! We Coloradans love our beer, so why not give the people what they want and host your wedding at a local brewery?!

Essential Reading for the Bride-to-Be

February 3, 2015

At the latest Union Cooperative meet-up, I posed the question: What essential resource are you reading right now? To give “essential resource” some context, this is a meet-up of engaged women in the midst of planning their wedding. Needless to say, we had a lot to say! Here are our suggestions for a great read...

Better Know a Venue: Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA)

January 29, 2015

The BMoCA is Boulder’s slice of urban chic, city culture, and it’s nestled among all the rest of your perfect visions of Boulder: in downtown just off Pearl, along the Creek Path, at the heart of the Farmers' Market, this two-story building provides an unavoidably perfect view of the mountains. And yes, you can have your wedding here!

Better Know a Venue: Chautauqua Dining Hall

January 23, 2015

It is said that former US President Theodore Roosevelt called Chautauqua "the most American thing in America.” Well I’d say that Chautauqua is “the most Boulder thing in Boulder.” If you are looking for a wedding venue that embodies everything "Boulder," Chautauqua Dining Hall just might be your place!
