When I meet couples who have just gotten engaged, there is of course the excited, intoxicating giddiness of love in the air. However, this is frequently followed by an expression of some anxiety over choosing the place for their upcoming wedding. Couples frequently look at this choice as the first hurdle to planning. The rationale being that once a venue is chosen, season preference will reveal itself, choice of dates will naturally be narrowed by the venue's availability, selection of vendors becomes localized, and all of the numerous decisions come into a more manageable focus. I agree that this is one great way to approach the planning process. It's a big job, and couples have to start somewhere!
Since this is such an important first step on the path for those newly-engaged lovebirds to feel more at ease with wedding planning, I am starting a series of Colorado venue profiles titled “Better Know a Venue.” This series will highlight and describe some of the fabulous venue choices in Colorado by breaking down vital statistics and important things to note, as well as my impressions of the location. This series is sure to be a valuable first step resource for wedding planning couples, so check back frequently for the latest venue profile!
